We are now at the midpoint of the year and it is timely to reflect on the first half. Firstly, a big thank you for the vote of confidence shown by the members in electing me as President. As I have mentioned before it is a great honour to lead a Club with a history and uniqueness that has truly stood the test of time.
Many thanks to the hard working committee who have now met a couple of times (and managed to stay relatively sober!). Our Foodmaster and Winemaster are to be congratulated for their efforts in securing great food and wine and we have managed to find new restaurants and wineries to try. As always we are keen to try new venues, so if you find a new restaurant you think we should try please let the committee know.
Please note we have had to change the date of our Charity lunch from August to September. Peter Dohnt, who will be officiating on the day, has asked me to remind all members for any donations that could assist in fund raising for the very worthy charity, Zero2Hero. This could include old bottles of wine or some vouchers from local businesses or even a weekend’s accommodation at a holiday destination. Please have a look at their website ( http://www.zero2hero.com.au) to understand the important work that this organisation does.
Our Winemaster has asked me to advise that he has not absconded with all the Italian wine we ordered last month. There has been a delay with the distributor waiting for stock to arrive and we are advised it will be here early next month.
