Gilbert Wines: Another Taste of the Great Southern
Gilbert Wines undertook their first plantings at a third generation Kendenup (near Mt Barker) farming property in 1985, following up with more plantings over the next 12 years to give a total of 24 acres of vines producing fantastic Riesling, Shiraz, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Vineyard founder Jim Gilbert, a strong supporter of the Twist Club in early days, tragically succumbed to Motor Neurone Disease in 2017. With the vineyard now 40 years old, the family team of Bev Gilbert and sons Clinton (sales and marketing) and Matthew (viticulturalist) continue to strive for excellence, successfully delivering award winning wines from the cool climate vineyard.
